Before Covid, a building estate initiative in India placed a nurse in our office lobby; offering Blood Pressure checks alongside sanitisers and masks. For a few days I walked past without stopping. One day, almost on a whim, I accepted.
The reading came back alarmingly high. No symptoms. Nothing to suggest anything was wrong. But the numbers told a different story.
That casual moment in a lobby sent me to my cardiac specialist. We ran the tests, built a management plan, and started treatment. My blood pressure was brought under control just days before lockdown. I went into one of the most stressful periods any of us have lived through with my health managed and stable. Had I kept walking past that nurse, the outcome could have been very different.
That experience never left me.
I have spent my career in telecommunications, leading convergences across ICT, service management, and Telco AI — helping industries navigate the moment when technology fundamentally changes what is possible. I believe we are standing at exactly that moment in healthcare. AI and medicine are converging in ways that can genuinely transform how we detect, prevent, and manage health conditions — not just for people who seek care, but for people who do not yet know they need it.
Beacon Health exists because preventive care should not depend on chance. It should not require a nurse in a lobby, a random decision, or a lucky moment. With the right technology, the right partners, and genuine compassion for the communities we serve, we can make early health screening something that reaches people before life gets complicated.
